Founder - Healthcare Executive - Medical device entrepreneur
Zulma Guillot is the Founder and CEO of Plasmatrix Biotech, Inc., a Miami Beach–based diagnostics company developing point-of-care technology for women’s hormonal and reproductive health. She brings more than 15 years of experience across healthcare, clinical operations, and executive leadership, including seven years leading the development of Plasmatrix’s diagnostic platform.
Her work centers on a practical goal: bringing diagnostic testing closer to patients at the point of care and giving healthcare professionals more timely information matching the accuracy of central laboratory testing to guide care. At Plasmatrix, she leads company strategy, scientific and engineering partnerships, and the coordination required to advance a medical device toward clinical use.
Zulma’s perspective comes from experience across multiple levels of healthcare. Her career began in hands-on clinical roles, with one of her first jobs as a young adult in Quest Diagnostics and progressed into healthcare administration and leadership, including serving as Director of Galloway Anesthesia Associates. That progression informs her approach to building technology: understanding the needs of patients, the demands on clinicians, and the operational and financial realities that determine whether an innovation can succeed in practice.
Zulma began her clinical training back in her hometown - Cuba and upon her arrival to America, she continued her education achieving another degree in business and healthcare administration, and graduate coursework in Public Health at Harvard University. Together with her professional experience, these studies inform her approach to healthcare access, organizational leadership, and the development of clinically relevant technology.
Through Plasmatrix, Zulma has brought together expertise in assay development, microfluidics, optical detection, and device engineering. Her role as founder connects these disciplines with the company’s broader priorities: product development, manufacturing readiness, strategic partnerships, alignment with FDA and commercialization strategy.
Born in Cuba and based between South Florida and Boston,MA, Zulma advocates for broader access to diagnostic care. Her focus is on translating that commitment into practical technology that can support women’s health access for all.
She welcomes conversations with healthcare organizations, research collaborators, investors, and industry partners working to advance women’s health and point-of-care diagnostics.
